My sprinkler wiring from the timer in the garage to the backyard basically has an open now and I need to run a new sprinkler wire harness. the original goes under concrete around the side of the house. Now that I need to run a new wire I can not go under the concrete so I wanted to know the best way to run it. Is it safe to run the it through the attic and then down the side of the house or does it need to be under ground or in conduit? It is low voltage 24V. I need around 150 to 200 feet to make it clean looking. Please advise.
Low voltage wiring does not need conduit or to be underground. It is a good idea to use a piece of conduit for mechanical protection where it runs down the side of the house (or any place it can be damaged). Not required in attic.
