Well I see its been over a year since you last posted. I bet you found a solution. If so, I would love to hear it because I am facing the same delima...what to use as a splash guard. I currently have heavy duty fabric (weed barrier...the dewitt really thick kind) and it seems to be working fine since it is pourous. thats the trick....a barrier that is porous will prevent some splashing versus a hard surface that bounces water up. Another idea I had was some sort of soft sponge. For example, there is a sponge type piece that placed inside the bottom of a downspout to quiet the drips falling from high up onto the bottom inside metal which can be a loud annoying sound. I dont know what its called. I might experiment with very small size gravel like pea gravel. Gravel needs to be small. But the biggest task is what I have already done....re-slope the soil away from the foundation, which is why I began this entire project in the first place. Standing water at foundation is bad for many reasons, and standing water splashes. I hope this helps. Hmmmm the search for a splash guard that does not splash! Maybe we can invent something and get rich, lol, because it appears there is a need for such a product. Soft foam that doesnt freeze when wet? I am sticking with dewitt weed barrier until I can find something better. My problem is that when rebuilding the sunken soil line, I did not maintain the 6 inch gap between the siding and my newly raised soil line. But I had to raise the soil line up too far at the foundation because the builder did a terrible job at grading the soil before installing the sod. So, since a 6 inch space is supposed to be maintained between siding and soil to prevent splash up onto siding, I am looking for a product to put on the ground that will not splash water.
