I run a few forums, some of them I had to shut down registrations because it got so bad. So I know the feeling. I report as I can. The shorter period of time those posts stay, the better it is. It's funny how some forums get hit harder than others when it comes to spam.

It comes in waves--some days not much---then a major spam storm---

I wish it were the edible kind----we'd all be able to sell the extras and retire----

I know the feeling. we get it all the time in the funtoo forums, as you say sometimes is steady blast all day long and then nothing for weeks.
We try stronger better techniques to prevent it, but is only so much you can do, without blocking out new users also.

I respect your job, it is not easy. Once you stop it, will be soon they will figure out another way.

I find it strange that a lot the spam on this site seems to be coming from Vietman.
What possible good do they think it's going to do them to post something that no one can even understand.
On other sites I see more of the broken english, and sort of making some silly statement remotly related to DIY but always include an erl to there web site.

I'm sure we have Vietnamese members/lurkers here that can read it.

Spam?
I love "spam"! (Fried, with some Maple syrup!! - Mmmmm!)
I like to get on this place at 2:30AM and see new members with multiple
posts, filled with "Baloney"! (Got to give "Baloney" equal time!) :)

The problem I have with some of these "spam" posts -
They're not just "adverts"/"pitches"....
Some of the "live-links" these people post; are of a malicious, nasty nature!
Best to be removed, as soon as possible!

Hey!! -
"--M--" - could you tell the Butler, I'd like a nice Burgundy with my spam!?!
Room temp. - of course!
Also -
Tell one of the drivers; the Rolls Royce needs a tune-up.
Not to worry!! -
I'll take the Jaguar!

Thanks!

Not in the winter----never in the winter---but the Land Rover is all yours---she's old but tough and

nobody will notice another scratch----we never did fix the hole from that rhinoceros that went after

Jim ---what a choice for a guard dog---that thing chases every thing.

The chauffeur was from England and got to pick the cars-----all right hand drive, too.

He's retired now and a new one needs hiring---Jim might know a hill climber/driver that is looking for a job.
