Im doin a room 41'x22'6" in order to span the 22'6" Im gonna use either the pre-engineered wooden i-joists or lvl's, do they have to be on 16" centers or can I go 2' and which would be better the i-joists or lvl's? I dont need to support much weight on top 800lbs. at most

Is anyone providing guidance for this project? It seems a bit, "off the cuff", if you know what I mean.

Make sure you check the requirement for the flooring you are putting above the room also (if there is a room above it). Some hardwood, and possibly other flooring, manufacturers require certain spacing that may exceed the requirements fo the joist/LVL manufacturer. I've had one where the joist guy said 24" o.c. and if I remember right the hardwoods needed around 19" o.c. Check with the joist guy first and then look at the flooring to see if you need to go beyond what the joist guy says.
