That style vent in your picture would would just stay plugged up and stop the dryer from drying and may even cause a fire.
The one Neal posted also will start sticking over time and the flaps will start sticking unless you keep it cleaned out.
There just is no 100% great vent, I use the one with the round flapper with a snap on cover, but it also needs to have the cover removed and be cleaned out or it will plug up and not seal.
But no way would I use the one you suggested!
Dryer vents exhaust some fine lint. I have never found one that would stay clean long term. Cleaning them is a maintenance item, like all the other maintenance items on a residence.
The pictured vent cap is the one the builder installed. I was going to match it for use with a bathroom exhaust fan, but maybe I will pull that one out from the dryer and replace it with a proper dryer vent.
