After our ceramic tile was laid & grouted in our kitchen and diningroom, we are noticing that some of the tiles have no glaze on them. These were the 78cent tiles from Lowes, so I guess that's why they were so cheap. Please tell me what we can use to get these unglazed tiles to match the rest. There are 8 in a rectangle right in the open area that is very noticeable.

I doubt if that is even possible - or if it is, if the results wouldn't be any better than what you already have. At that price you paid (a) you got a cheap economics lesson and (b) you can afford to take the offending tiles out and replace them with good ones, presuming they are still in stock.

Of course, that begs the question: Who laid them in the first place and why wouldn't that happen again?

The bad tiles shouldn't have been installed. Once you install them, you are accepting them. But....if you complain to the nice people that sold the garbage, I'm sure they will take care of the whole thing.:thumbsup:

That is one good thing about those stores, they sometimes sell junk and the people in the flooring department don't know what they're talking about, but when something like this happens, they will eventually make it right.:thumbup:
