Have a copper pipe in my boiler room that has a leak at the soldered joint. It's a drip like every minute. I bought a propane tanks, flux, solder and grit cloth.

Any advice on how to do this? Assuming should sit my gas off so I'm safe in the room.

you will need to shut off the water and drain the pipe, no need to shut of gas to the boiler or water heater..best bet is to heat up and take the joint apart , clean with a fitting brush of any corrosion, sand the pipe with grit cloth of any corrosion , flux up the parts and put back together and heat the joint with the torch, heat from the opposite side you are feeding the solder in so you know the pipe and fitting are hot enough and the solder will flow to the heat, let cool, wipe off any extra flux and test..

The pipe/ joint area has to be completely Dry, both inside, 'n out,....

Post pics of pipe and where it goes to. Small/slow leaks are sometimes best left until spring to repair.
