i am trying to find information on creating my own efficient solar cell; i have made ones with copper, silicon and Plexiglas but am wondering if there is a more efficient way that i can still do it myself. i am wanting to power a small cabin but eventually i want to do my whole home. thank you and any information would be appreciated

Best of luck to you. I have installed complete solar votaic systems, but the panels were manufactured by BP. Not really that expensive... about $10 a watt.

yes, maybe, maybe, yes

It depends on how you design your system. Obviously, you can't power your shop tools from a solar cell that's on a solar calculator. You can power your shop tools with a solar farm, such as are operated by BP, but that would be overkill. It is all is the design and how much money you want to spend.
