Hi All...
I just purchased a hydroclean fill valve for my toilet. The critical level line is "required" to be 1" above the top of the overflow tube. Either my tank is short or my tube is high but I am unable to adjust the new fill valve to this height without breaching the top of the tank. Can I cut the overflow tube down to size? Any other suggestions? Thanks

Instead of cutting it; possibly damaging it's functionality, maybe return it and purchase an adjustable Fluidmaster?

if you cut the tube, would you have to lower the water level which would of course reduce the amount of water in the tank which could affect the quality of the flush?

Yes I would have to lower the water level. I'll check out the fluidmaster today but the hydroclean is adjustable too so I don't know where I'll stand at the end. Thanks for the suggestions.
