hey guys - well I added road base to my back yard slope (was all large rocks before) point being, I want to park my truck down there. Problem is, its pretty steep and sometime my truck slips on the road base because of the steepness.

I was thinking of either adding grass or larger decorative gravel on top of the road base. Maybe adding weed protector, some wood to get less area surface pressure, then add the gravel on top or soil with grass on top

opinions? I can add pics of needed but i believe the slope is about 15 to 20 degrees

probably the only think I regret about my house

AB limestone, compacted in 3 inch lifts, then 3 inches of crusher run compacted to lock in the AB. A plate compactor should be good enough for parking a truck. When you reach the elevation you want and it's well compacted finish it with crushed limestone dust. About an inch, compact with the plate compactor and repeat the compacting a few times soaking it with water each time. Spray some tar oil over it if you really want nice surface to park on.

would guys suggest lava rock? looks pretty. Problem would be, in order to make it less steep, I need to buy really large rocks, then add lava rocks.

so, I currently have concrete roadbase - which is too soft for my truck to climb it will just peel out and dig. So, was thinking of adding either weed barrier (to prevent rocks from going in) or cut up ply wood and distribute them even with gravel on top.

as for the border to prevent rocks from moving out, would it be fine to use stack bricks or better ply wood and kind of nail(large tubes) it in the road base?

I agree with WoW that grass would not be on the list.
Is a real blacktop or cement drive out of the question?
sadly yeah :( its out of my budget. I got quoted for 4 - 6,000 dollars

id figure adding lava rocks little by little will eventually get the job done. I estimated it would cost around 200 - 400 to add lava rocks plus larger rocks at the end to lift it
