I am looking at a home to purchase and upon entering a scuttle attic I noticed that two manual vented skylights were installed in a trussed roof where cuts were made to accomodate the widths. The roof load appears to have been redistributed by using 2x6 doubled up in a Z pattern. Is this acceptable? There is no visible sag in the ridge, decking etc.

Without a picture it's hard to say.
I know in my area without an engineer signing off on this one, I'd get my wrist slapped by the inspector.

Picture of skylight framing in trussed roof

The home was re-roofed 2 yrs ago with all new decking. This pic was taken with the old decking removed and the skylight framing can be seen in the shot.
