Can someone point me in the direction of anyone that uses Google SketchUp and can help with my other shed post?

I apologize for not being able to find a SketchUp thread here, If there already is one.

And yes, I have gone to the SketchUp forum. I prefer y'all. Unless of course there is someone here that attends both. :vs_worry:

This post?

I don't see anything about Sketchup on there. What do you need?

Nick and Mingled, Thanks for you replies. Honestly I'm in uncharted territory with forums, SketchUp and project planning outside of my own head. Please bear with me.
I have the other thread I started and this all probably goes in the other thread though I dunno…
I have a Sketchup model that I can share with y’all but I’m new to creating groups, components and entities. I’m using Make 2016. Should I just put the file up here in my post so you can download/copy it?
Ya throw up a link with some explanations of what you need.
Hi lugnutt,
No help with SketchUp, I found it uncooperative. I know I could have mastered it, but at my age one must choose their battles as time is limited. I found another program and moved on.

But, can you describe what kind of a problem you are having?

Okay, I have attached a link below… Please let me know if it works.

For those familiar with SketchUp I could use advice about how to create proper groups of I guess entities to make components to make groups. This may all be in the incorrect order but this is why I’m here.

Bud, or anyone else… I have one other thread with a ridiculously huge plan that I need out of my head and onto paper up to code so my brain doesn’t melt. This may have all needed to go in the same thread but Say Laa VEE (Sorry, I don’t have a French keyboard). I know it’s bad etiquette to post the link to the other thread but it’s just South of this one about 15 threads or so.

usually to make a group just select all the parts you want to be in the group then right click and select "make group" from the drop down box.

If you do not already have it try out 1001 bit tools. it give you stair making button, door making, rafters. all kinds of useful things.
After seeing what you are trying to do. I think you need 1001 bit tools extesion. also you dont need to draw in studs, you are over complicating the plan and drawings.

here are a couple helpful vids.

an example of 1001 bit tools.

Short of going in search of your other post, what are you trying to do? If you need a drawing and material list for a shed, your local lumber yard will most likely be happy to do it for you. And no, you're not legally indebted to them, but yes, dollar for dollar, they are competitive with your local big box. You will get straight lumber, properly dried, and it does make a difference. No need learning new software for a single project.

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
