Is this a rotary switch or toggle?
What part number did you order?
Does this operate off, low, med. high?

Fan switch 3 speed needs replaced. I havent taken it apart yet and i am ordering a new switch I know a satcko switch will work but I have 2 options single or triple throw.
Is this a wall switch, or a pull-chain switch on the fan itself?

Some 3 speed fan switches have 3 wires - an incoming hot wire and 2 wires out to the fan motor. They get the 3 speeds by connecting the hot wire to first one fan wire, then to the second fan wire, and finally to both wires. Does this sound like what you have?

You know that a Satcko switch will work - possibly, it is this one https://www.lightbulbs.com/product/satco-81983 (?) which has Four connections.
Fairly obviously, this switch will connect the incoming LINE to one of Three possible outlets (or not connect the line to anything at all), which will give the possibility of three different speeds PLUS (possibly) Off, and I do not know what this switch actually does.

Now, a normal (single action) switch is a Single Pole Single Throw (SPST - or 1P1T) switch.
If one has a Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT - or 1P2T) switch, this is called a Two-way switch in most English speaking countries but it is called a Three-way switch in North America - seemingly, because it has Three connections. (!!!)

Beyond this, any switch is more properly described by the number of Poles and Throws (connections) which are possible by using it. (See https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/switch-basics/all)
So, a switch with One inlet and Three outlets would be termed a SP3T switch (or a 1P3T Switch)
If there were Four outlets (one of which NOT being used for an OFF situation), it would be a SP4T switch (or an 1P4T Switch)
