I'm planning my bathroom remodel and want to put in a 3/4" tub/shower valve. I don't really care if it's thermostatic, but all the 3/4" valves seem to be, so, whatever.
Thing is, I'm having a hard time determining if these things require a separate volume control handle when used with a diverter spout.
For example, the Kohler K-2975 valve says you need a K-9663 "double ell" aspirator when using a diverter spout. Ok, fine. But I still can't tell if I need a separate on/off control? Same question with a Moen Exact-temp S3371 or American Standard R530.
All the tub/showers I've ever used are either push-pull off/on, or, shut off when moved past the full cold position. That's exactly what I want, only in 3/4". Does such a thing exist?
EDIT: Ok, I'm disappointed. The Moen requires a separate on/off per their FAQ page. The American Standard requires a separate on/off on their spec sheet. The Kohler requires a separate on/off per the K-9663 install sheet. Ugh.
However, the Hansgrohe iBox 01850181 looks like it might be the ticket! Ha, leave it to the Germans to get it right!
