Hey everyone!

I know there is some debate whether to caulk around the shower valve escutcheon, but I decided to caulk around it, leaving a "hole" at the bottom, with clear silicone.

My question is should I caulk the escutcheon screws as well? It seems like water could potentially get behind them since there's no gasket, grommet, o-ring behind the screw head. Problem with caulking them is it might be a booger trying to ever get them back out.

What do you think?

Thanks!

Don't caulk them. The only situation where I'd even think about it would be if you had an extra showerhead aimed *at* them, for example. Otherwise it's overkill and you risk making them harder to take out and making them look like an amateur job.
