I am remodeling our basement bathroom which has a drop ceiling. My question has to do with removing the tile/drywall and whether or not I have to remove the grid. Obviously if I don't have to remove the grid that would save some time/money/headache. So, is any issue seen with cutting the drywall right at the grid and just replacing cement board right up to that point since the finished tile will be grouted, caulked, etc? Or am I best to just take down the grid and do full sheets all the way up and reinstall the grid?
