Having a problem getting the shower pan off of the drain I don't know whats holding it down. The shoe looks like it's threaded but there's no way to get a grip on it there's no slots or tools to use on the flat surface. I don't want to bust it off, I will be reusing it. I have to remove it to get the rotted sub floor out from under it. Help please

Janice---We need more info---post a picture---many can not be removed from above the pan and the ceiling below must be opened---the cost of a new pan might be less than the repair of the ceiling below---Just a thought---

The chances are pretty darn good that if the floor below the shower pan is shot from leaks, the back of the ceiling below is covered with black mold. In any event, repairing dry wall ceilings is cake. Sawsall time. :yes::yes::yes:
