I have some water stains on the ceiling under the shower. There is also an issue with the flashing on the roof over the shower. Is it possible for the issue with the roof to lead to a water stain on the first floor ceiling or is this more likely a shower issue?

We shower daily and haven’t noticed the water stain growing but now it has as the snow on the roof is melting.

Anything is possible but it is probably the shower drain or trap that is leaking. Do you have a access panel behind the shower to look at the drain and trap fittings?

Yes. We do have a tiled bench.

After you check the roof and underside in the attic to be sure...
the next job is to create some access below the pan.

Any kids using the shower? They are notorious for splashing water out of the tub, or not closing a shower door or curtain all the way.
Need to do some detective work to determine when the stains show up. After a rain or after showers.

Yes. We do have a tiled bench.

Tiled benches are often improperly built, with substandard structure allowing flexure of the tiles/grout, which lets water leak past the joints.
