I have recently discovered a leak on the opposite wall of the shower (ground floor) which is seeping up from the floor. Only gets wet after running the shower. Looking closer at my shower drain I noticed a space-- is this normal? Is there anything in this photo that looks like it could be the problem?

I'm not seeing anything about that drain that looks right.
Where the drain strainer?
It's suppost to look something like this.

Looks like the drains trim ring just popped through that floor then someone tryed using PVC glue to try and fix it.

Even the hole for the drain looks way over sized to me.

I took the strainer off to make it easier to see the space. Here is another photo including the strainer.
