i'm trying to replace my shower
head extension arm . the new arm will not screw into the pipe that is in the wall . i can't feel the thread. i tried using lime away . help!!!

All of those type pipes are 1/2" pipe thread. What came out?
Does the new one look the same?
Is the old pipe broken off inside the wall?

Sometimes the fitting in the wall is slightly tweaked and it is hard to start the new thread. Could this be the case?
