In the hall bathroom, I removed the medicine cabinet and now what it left is a square hole. I decided not to install a new cabinet there, instead, mount a large mirror. The size of the mirror will cover the entire hole. Should I or should I not nail the drywall to cover the hole before mounting the new mirror?

That wall is a interior wall so no insulation is required.

What do you guys/gals say? Your input is appreciated.

Thanks,

I want to say that you should drywall it but I can't think of a really solid reason as to why you should!

Personally, I always glue my mirrors to the wallboard even when using mirror clips, so the wallboard is critical in getting that done.
