I have a two car attached garaged at my house and additionally I have an aluminum carport on the side of the garage.

does the carport add any value since I have a garage already? is it worth it to remove the carport?

It might add value to one buyer (camper, 3rd car, MC etc)
and detract with another buyer

Unless ugly or falling apart - keep it. Future buyer with a boat or camper may find it a big plus.

Probably not, unless your wife hates it, or your real estate agent tells you that's why the house isn't selling. On the other hand, it probably doesn't add any value though, so you wouldn't lose anything taking it down.

IMO if you're staying in a house for the long haul you should do what suits you and not what helps resale.

If your planning on selling sooner rather than later, leave it there and take it down when it deteriorates and/or a realtor advises you to do so. (Or leave it up if a realtor advises).
