I have a Kitchler outdoor post lamp connected to a photocell. A week or so ago the bulb didn’t turn off at dusk and was just flickering. The bulb is an LED and has been in there for quite a few years. I replaced the bulb the next day and it didn’t turn on. So then I thought the photocell was bad since it was around 7-8 years old. I replaced the photocell and still no luck. I then used my non-contact circuit tester and the post is getting power. I then checked the GU25 socket in the light post (see photo) and the non-contact tester showed a reading on only one of the plugs (bottom one in photo). Is that what it should show? Could it be that only one of the plugs on the GU24 is working. This is frustrating trying to find the issue.

You shouldn’t try troubleshooting with a non-contact tester.

But yes, I’d expect one contact to be hot, while the other should be neutral.
But with your “tester“, you don’t know whether it is a properly connected neutral with zero volts or an open neutral (not connected somewhere).
