I'm about to get a shed on a concrete base. But I am unsure of the optimal location.

Currently we are set to go for Option 1 in attachments

That said, I am afraid it will look weird since this is not parallel to the fence or house but to the back of the yard. I can turn to Option 2 in attachments

But that will leave A gap in the back which I'll then fill in with concrete like Option 3

Any suggestions are appreciated

You probably mean the retaining wall that is in place there. My back fence is on the higher part of the retaining wall. The setback requirements are 10 feet. Which indeed will be an issue. Option 4 is the save option regarding set backs. that said, right now I'm leaning toward option 3.

My bad, I should have looked at the shadows from the house and realized that dark area is just more shadow. Number one gives you more back yard, but #2 and #3 are nicer to look at. #3 would give you a place for "stuff" to be outside without sitting on the ground and less lawn back there to mow.

Personal choice, but placing (or building) a shed on an oversize slab has a risk of water getting in. Different ways to eliminate water concerns, but I would build a 2x4 frame for the shed location and pour a stepped slab. Are you pouring the slab or a builder?

Personally I would put it in the middle of the yard with its back against the retainer wall.
