im going to build a shed, the spot where im going to build has a grade diffrence from 3ft to 0ft over 22 feet, if i dig it down to a level grade, and just pour a floating pad would that do, or what if i was to pour alarger bad, to keep a walk way behind the garge, and just install a retaining wall would that be appropriate (work) or should i form a foundation

On a sloping lot, to leave the surrounding grading pretty much alone, a pad with supporting thickened footings is sometimes used. Sort of like a daylight basement, with the low dirt side at grade there, would be one choice. The side and back walls would be at least 6" higher than finished grade. A substantial shed would require footings and more, from your local building department. What size shed, is a permit needed, what is your frost depth for up-heave, are you into rockeries or retaining walls, these are just some of the questions that need answering. Be safe, GBAR
