sewage ejector tank replacement

2276 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  dave zirkle
I have a sewage ejector tank in the basement with a line coming from a bathroom. After needing to replace the float switch, I noticed the sides of the tank appeared to be bulging in. Also, during rain, the pump activates without any activity from the bathroom. I assume there is ground water leaking into the tank. Should the tank be replaced and are there any other alternatives?

Post a picture if you can-----sealing the pipes to the tub might be all you need to do---

However if the tub is a thin one and it's collapsing--replacement with a tougher tub might be the only sane option.--Mike---
Looks thin

Thanks Oh Mike, The walls do look thin. Just wondering how big of an undertaking the replacement would be?
