I have lived in this home for about two years. I am not having septic tank problems but, out of curiousity, I removed the septic tank cleanout cover, and I am baffeled at what I found.
In the third and last photo, the tank cover is visible to the left ant is is clear that the sanitary to is open at the top--suds visible--
Do I need to further inspect?? p
ect further.

hahahahaha nice pun  that is the inlet baffle to the tank. it forces the solids to the bottom of the tank so that they can separate properly
Just to set things straight--I have worked on and installed a few septic tanks in my 65 years. I know what the pipe is for!
What I am conserned with is the fact that there seems to be no covering for part of the tank. It looks like dirt has fallen into the top around the entry pipe.
I hope I do not have a potential problem with what looks like an improperly installed riser.
I have never dealt with a riser but I know what it is for.
