Septic tank outlet pipe broke in tank

4232 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  ClydeOspark
While attemting to snap off the clay 90 degree outlet pipe in the second chamber of my septic tank it broke at the wall of the tank.
I was going to install a sludge filter.
Is there a fitting or something that I can slip into the 4 inch clay pipe then install the filter to that?

I would want to say that anything that fits not too loosely and then caulked into place will do.

If the new arrangement does not have a baffle or 90 degree bend so the water surface never drops close to the open end, then your filter must block grease.
The filter is designed and made for this application.
