Two years ago, I had a drain system installed in my basement because of a water leak. The waterproofing company tore up the concrete floor next to the wall and installed a drain which feeds into a sump pump. I hired a contractor to put my basement back in order. I opted to completely replace the old vinyl tile in one of the affected rooms. Here is my issue—first off, this room smells damp and secondly, there is something seeping through between the tiles. There is not a lot of seepage but it is enough to be annoying. It’s not sticky and cleans up with just water. It appears to be the adhesive used to affix the tiles. Could this be possible almost two years later? What can I do to correct this issue? I have a dehumidifier running in the room.
