New to this. Bought a 3 piece outdoor concrete bench for garden but didn't think at the time how to secure it in the garden. It has two supporting pieces and the seat. Don't want to set concrete so was thinking about drilling holes in the support pieces (diameter of rebar) and then drive rebar in the ground and expoxy the rebar after it is inserted in the concrete pieces - then epoxy the seat to the support pieces. Does anyone else have a better or different idea. thanks, Stavros

Perfect.... except that I wouldn't epoxy the the rebar into the concrete in this instance because the end of the rebar in the ground is going to soon rust away, and then you'll have the rebar stump to deal with. Maybe wedge them in there somehow?

Thanks Willie, good point. guess the rest of my idea is ok. All I have to worry about now is to make sure the holes line up. Stavros

Clean with navel jelly/rust-away and paint the rebar before.
Assemble the bench upside down, and drill perpendicular, and then measure between the holes.
Drive rebar into the ground the same distance using a level for vertical.
Use cedar/redwood/composite slivers for wedging, or better yet a dowel. Steel levered directly on thin concrete might crack it.

It would seem easier to just use a post digger with those carboard forms though, and then glue the whole thing together.
Wish they made those bases a little wider, or included a better attachment system.

thanks for all the info. Not sure if I totally understand when you say the concrete is thin on the bench. Best that I take picture of bench and attach. Seems you are suggesting that I pour some concrete for stability. Stavros
