I have always secured 2×4 troffers with 2 ceiling wires and 2 screws caddy corner. Do LED flat panel drop-in 2×4's need anything other than the hooks that go over the ceiling grid runners?

Just finished a school and installed hundreds of flat panels. We had to run 1 hanger wire from opposite corners to structure and used clips to hold fixtures in grid in addition to the mounts on the fixture. This way if the ceiling comes down the fixture doesn't. Could not fasten to grid wires even with our M/C.
Yea you'd figure there'd be a compliant way to do it but these fixtures only have the hooks for the grid. Do you tie off the wires to the hooks? Usually theres a hole in the hook but these dont have them.
In our case we to eyebolts in steel structure

It depends entirely on the light. Some do not require anything other than the grid clips or a few screws. Check the instructions to see if any safety tethers are required.
According to IBC all lay in fixtures must be properly supported.
