Oops...my husband did such an excellent job of installing flexitec flooring right up until he cut the seam. He overcut and left a gap, small, on a 12" length. What's the best way to repair this error. He's thinking of cutting another strip and having two seams or possibly trying to find the piece he cut out and filling in and then using silicone to seam it all.

I just felt bad that this happened and the rest of the floor, not an easy configuration looks beautiful!

Find a piece that matches the pattern and lay it over top of the bad cut. Double cut (cut through both layers) the piece to fit. Pull the old piece out and put the new fill piece in. It should line up perfectly if he cuts it correctly. Then you use a white latex carpet seam sealer to seal the edges of the material together. Do NOT use silicone.
