I have new speaker cabinets made out of Baltic Birch plywood but the front baffle is MDF. So the MDF ends have to be sealed.
Initially I was planning on spraying Mohawk E-Z Vinyl Sealer M102-8000 on the MDF because it has been recommended in a few YouTube videos. I got 2 cans of the stuff which will not be enough to spray the speakers all over. So I was going to use Zinsser BIN on the birch plywood and overlap the vinyl sealer and BIN. Is the BIN going to adhere to the vinyl sealer if I do this or should I simply use only BIN on both the MDF and plywood parts?
The joints between MDF and plywood are smooth and where there is a small gap it is filled with Titebond glue and sanded.
They will then be spray coated with satin black Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane.
