I’m an attempt to change thermostats (again) I have lost track of what’s what. I am switching to nest 3rd generation from learning E.

Aside from trashing Nest which makes sense can someone help me with the original wiring that was going to an old school Honeywell?

Keep in mind I have added a “common” wire but need to sort out what’s what In this photo

The wires on the right: green/white/black/red, what is what?

I’m terms of nest Y G R W and o/b. What connects to what based on my pic. Thanks

As a guess. Red to R/RH/RC.

White to W.

Green to G.

Black to Y.

Can't be sure, as pick doesn't show where the other wires connect in unit.

Ya that makes sense. Without the schematic that pic is useless. Anyway I got it sorted. Mixed up the red and the black somehow. Basically I had the G on the RC or RH and the RC or RH on the G.

I wonder if I could have friend the unit by making these mistakes. Granted fuse was off in all cases. But when you turn fuses back on and wires are in the wrong place.

Anyway may put the Nest 3rd generation on Kijiji and get EcoBee. I don’t know why I don’t like a system where you can’t see the actual temp at all times.

Nest is way to “gimikee”.
