See image above. I need to affix parts A and B with some sort of screw or other fastener through the holes on the right side of B. The catch is that I cannot harm, damage, or alter A in any way (i.e. put holes in it).

Can you recommend something for this application?

Thanks!

i think i would want to know what A and B are before i recommend anything.
my first thought is that what you are describing is impossible with a screw, bolt or nail.

depending on what it is, how about you pad the rest of the slot and glue it?

In the space to the right of "A" place a metal plate as wide as the space.
Tap the hole in "B" or use a metal insert if it's wood. Screw a bolt in "B" and it will push the plate against "A" holding it in place. Use locktite or a lock washer on the bolt so it stays tight.

Agreed. With almost everybody so far. Without knowing what A and B are and how tall? I would put a spacer of metal, hardwood, corian, semi rigid rubber or clear lexan in place. I guess you could put screws through the pilot holes shown.

This smells of an art presentation to me.

Again, without knowing all the details, I might also be willing to try just wrapping the base in a rubber like material and press it in place.

Does whatever this have to be presented with the backside against the back edge or is the whole pocket fair game?

Put a 1/4" tee nut on the inside of holes in B, then screw a 1/4-20 Swivel Screw Clamp through B from the outside, then place a swivel screw clamp foot on the end of the swivel screw clamp then tighten up on A. Since you didnt give all of the dimensions don't know if this (swivel screw clamp foot) will fit between A & B.
