Hello. I am building a screened in porch on the back of my two-story house, and trying to determine which roof type will work the best. I will be doing a metal roof so can get by with a shallower pitch.

15x20 deck (20' along house)

Shed roof style is where I was going at first, but leaves me with only 6'6" clearance at the end away from the house with a 2/12 pitch. I suppose I could go shallower to save some headroom.

Gable style roof could work but I don't have much room to work with based on current window. Do I have enough room?

In Florida they attach a substantial storm gutter at the house below the 2nd story window. In effect this ads a valley which may have ice/snow issues to consider. The gutter acts then supports a secondary peak that is part of the screen enclosure. Please see a couple of quick pictures from my neighbors...

I would forget the metal roof and use roll roofing with good looking side gravel stops (maybe even copper). Then 1:12 to .5:12 gives you plenty slope for rain. If you must have the metal roof, and I don't know the minimum pitch for metals, protect the deck with layers of ice shield and such and put the metal roof on as decoration.
Search "flat roof porch" and go to images. Looks like some kinds of trims for facia can make them look good. For eave gutter, you wouldn't need the trims. There are copper gutters too, which are trims in themselves.
