I just finished painting a door using an HVLP and have a few places with sagging paint. Is there anyway to sand this off using a wet sanding technique or do i have to sand the whole face of the door and respray it? I would prefer not to respray it because, I ran out of paint and would need to purchase more. Any details is greatly appreciated.

This is the type of paint: http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/for-your-home/paint-products/aura-grand-entrance

About the only thing I know to try is to use a razor blade scraper to get as much of the sagging off as possible and then sand. It will take a delicate yet aggressive touch to sand it off without marring the good parts. It's worth a try.

It's a bummer, but ya gotta bite the bullet to make it right. Anything you do will alter the sheen. If it's your own cabinet, weigh out how much it matters to you.
If it's one that you're being paid to do, pony up, sand em out and repaint. I hate it when that happens...

BM Grand Entrance. Only sold in quarts, and yep it's pricey. My local BM store around here didn't even bother carrying it as they know they won't sell much of it.
And to think that for us old-timers anyway, paint USED to be about $10 a GALLON!!!:surprise:

I will admit I have never used that paint but from what I have read I don't think I ever will doesn't get the best reviews. Must be super thin to get runs and sags using an HVLP. Guess I shouldn't say that, like an airless tips would make a lot of difference. Pics of the sagging may help us tell you if they can be sanded out better.

Here it is important to understand that the fastest way to get the smoothest finish with latex paint is using an airless paint sprayer. If you don’t have it, you can rent for less than $100 a day. Though there are other sprayers, which are less expensive but those will require you to thin the paint for a precise consistency. While doing the paint job, make sure you wear a disposable respirator.
