Our house came with a stacked samsung washer dryer (almost 2 years old now), the washer seems to work great and the spin cycle seems to get the clothes pretty dry. But the dryer, I dont know? I dont think we are overloading it at all. The dryer has pre-set setting for 20/30/40 minutes of dry time, we have always had to use a custom time of 60 minutes, which just doesnt seem right.
Airflow is not blocked, I am 100% sure of this. As for vent length, we are looking at 30' adding the extra length for bends and such (I have a couple 90* bends in it). The owners manual says the dryer is capable of calculated runs up to 80' in length. The entire vent is made from solid metal ducting, and behind the dryer to the wall is a one of the solid flex lines (not the foil type)
The air coming out of the dryer vent seems warm at best, i have checked other peoples dryer vents, and theirs feel HOT, where if I hold my hand there it actually starts to hurt.
Does this sound like it could be a thermostat/element issue? It looks like I can buy a new element and thermostat for about $50, and I am sure I can figure out how to install them myself?
Reviews on this dryer said after 20 minutes the clothes are very damp, at 30 minutes everything is dry. So something is not right and its driving me and my wife crazy, and I am sure its making a huge power bill increase as well??
