I am a homeowner who unfortunately doesn't know much about roofs. A guy who is working on my neighbor's fence pointed out to me that my roof is sagging badly and suggests that I have it looked at and fixed. And conveniently handed me a card and said he can help. I don't know him from the next guy on the street and wondering if he is taking me for a ride.

So I took some pictures of my sagging roof (according to him anyway) and hoping that someone here can confirm if my roof is indeed sagging. Here's a link to a picture I took (I have more if it helps to diagnose the problem).

i'd go up in the attic and take a look at that area, check for sags and/or cracked rafters.

I agree with the first two posters.

Get a couple pics from inside, and a couple more from outside, couple different views.

I see nothing in that picture that set's off alarms, but I can see a slight angle coming off the rake and toward the valley, but that could simply be a high rake truss which is nothing to worry about at all.

The slight dip that I observed, travelled parallel to the valley metal, transgressing from the eave to the top of the valley.

This is just an effect of the sheet metal valley liner telegraphing visually through the exposed shingles on the field of the roof.

Without further photos indicating anything more significant, I would say for you to put your mind at ease.

You could also have the contractor come back out and walk your roof surface and point out exactly what he was referring to, so that you could take additional photos and get further advice from us here.

Also the house is about 11 years old, so it's fairly new IMO and it was practically remodeled from ground up.

I don't feel comfortable commenting on those interior pictures,
thus I would suggest you hire a roofer / home inspector to take a closer look at the 'previously done' repair work in that area.

If you tell us what City / State your in we may be able to recommend someone in your area.
Many of us belong to both these forums and others and know Roofing Contractors in many area's.

As far as I know, the internal work (especially the roof area) was all brand new when remodeled, it wasn't repair work per se. I live in San Jose, CA, so if you have trustworthy licensed roofer referrals for my area, please let me know. Also, is there generally a charge just to have someone come assess the situation?
