Painting my kids playhouse and the metal exterior door has rust spots. Nothing loose or flaking that I can get off unless I try sanding it all down. Guessing the old paint job has just failed since it's been years. Will primer cover this and stop it from showing through the paint? Or will it keep working it's way through? I know I have Kilz 3, put didn't know if there was something special to use on rust.
Thanks!

Lowe's has rusty metal primer (Rustoleum) in red and gray. Sand it fairly aggressively before priming. Topcoat with an all surface enamel. It will be as good as new.
