Hello,

Is there a "to code" way to use a set of individual 8 gauge wires through walls and an attic?

I have several hundred feet of 8 gauge wire that I pulled from underground conduit running to an abandoned well. It is standard wiring with plastic white, red, black, and green sheathing. I have a current project that could use this material. It is about a 70 foot run from the AC panel, up a wall, through the attic, and down a wall again before about 100 feet of conduit that I plan to burry. It seems as though I read a section once that allowed for this, but now all I can find is conduit or Romex requirements.

Peace,
Dr. Z.

Individual conductors need to be run in a conduit or raceway .

Thanks for the confirmation.

I can buy the standard grey PVC conduit to run the wiring through at about half the cost of new 8-2 AWG Romex, but the installation time/trouble isn't worth it. Too bad there isn't a cheaper/easier flexible conduit or raceway solution.

PVC is about the cheapest conduit available.
