Hello, recently i took my old bathtub out of my house, it was in very bad shape and had been leaking, finally took it out, it had a date of 8/1978, old.

Anyways when it was finally removed, we noticed a section about 6in X 6in of rotted wood on a section of the wood on which the bathtub sits on.

it doesn't appear to be a section which supports the bathtub, however still must be fixed clearly, what is the best way to do this?

Going to have to cut out the subfloor and replace it.
Really also need to get rid of any of that old steel or cast iron plumbing.

Black pipe looks like ABS---should be fine to leave that as is---

To replace the bad wood---cut out the bad---add 2x4 blocking to support the new ply wood--then glue and screw it down---

The soft wood under the wall? Not much you can do about that---leaving it alone should not cause any future problems.
