I am planning to re-model my greenhouse and switch to different type of roofing material. I used glass cladding before but since it breaks more often than it should, maybe it's time to put a plastic roof?

I heard polycarbonate roof sheets are really good.

Any thoughts on this?

Im not quite aware of how the weather in your location is. But in your case, I would say to search more about polycarbonate roofing sheets especially if its your first time to use it. This way, it'll save you time and money. I have no problem using glass on my own greenhouse as its located on warmer and safer place.

There are Poly's that are specifically made for Green House use. http://www.homemadehints.com/greenhouse-covering-materials-comparison/

It all depends on your budget and how much you plan on spending for upkeep and maintenance.

The majority of people that have green houses, end up using them as a hobby for a short period. After a while, they end up turning into storage sheds.

Remember that Green houses are not about the plants. It is about the structure and plants as a whole.
