hello I thank and appreciate the help

my heater just stopped working one day and noticed that the air filter was bad, after replacing it i pushed the reset button ,t but to no luck.. all it makes is a humming noise..

Can you be a litlle more specific what heater or furnance are you using ? If it is electric heater, a blocked filter can cause overheating and damage something if the overheat protection switch is not working. A gas furnance may not have the same result with the blocked filter.

Does the humming sound seem to be coming from the blower assembly?

If Gas furnace Do the burners light?

If Gas furnace do you have a sprak ignition, hot surface (Glow coil) ignition, or standing pilot?

The people on this forum who can help will need some more information.
