In Canada the code requires a piece of insulating material (not necessarily insulation) to keep the wire away from the duct.

Romex and Duct Cross Paths
I am running new duct work in a house previously on an old boiler. To get my ducts to the new registers I'll need to cross paths with some romex 12/2. There is no where that they run parallel, just intersecting. I need both inspected by the city so I am wondering if it is against code to have the two intersect. Thanks for any advice.
