I currently have a Valley Roman Tub Faucet that was installed 13 years ago when my house was built. I want to replace the entire faucet with a better updated brand and model. The tub has tile all around and a wall separating the Stall shower so there is no access to underneath the tub to get to the faucet. this looks like an 8" faucet.
How do I remove the Hot & Cold valves?
The water spout has a hole at the end and I assume you use a alen wrench to losen this and then pry up. Correct?

Is this normal design and is this all top installed?

Yes, the design is normal. Yes, you loosen that allen key and the spout pops off. No, it is not top installed. If you want to remove it you need to access the bottom somehow be it opening tile or removing the tub. Is it a jacuzzi tub? If so their should be an access panel for the motor, can you reach the faucet through that?

Why do you want to replace the faucet? If you are just tired of the way it looks, the finish is wearing, or it's leaking you may have another option. If you have a good name brand faucet you can usually buy new trim for it (handles, spout, and escutions). The trim as well as the cartridges can all be changes from the top.

Thanks for replying so quickly. I am having a new Vanity installed and we would like to change from Polished brass to brushed bronze. This means I would have to change the Roman Tub faucet & the stall shower faucet & head.

This is not a jacuzzi tub. This was a builders brand and on the top of the handle it says Valley II. I don't think they have many choices. I would love to just change out the spout and handles.

Unfortunately you probably don't have many choices. Maybe you could take off a tile to access the underside, or remove the tub.
