Repainting my whole house and I run into a problem when painting doors.
I know you're supposed to brush all the doors, but it takes forever and roller is fast :)
I'm using SW ProClassic Latex and I tried it with small 4'' Purdy white dove.
I notice that after a bit the rollers seems to shed like crazy, like it's deteriorating or something.
Could use a tip o what roller to use.

What''s the style of door? Flat slab, raised panel?
On raised panel doors I use a sash brush for the details and a foam roller for the flat area.
Comes out as smooth as if it was sprayed.

Joe Caption loves his foam rollers. I just think they don't hold very much paint (you will reload often) and they tend to skid, leaving skid marks in your paint if you're not careful.

I use a Whizz 4" roller for doors and it goes pretty fast. Maybe 10 minutes tops to roll out a coat on a six panel door. You won't even have to pick up a brush unless you're cutting around a peep hole or a door knob. If you want a smoother (without much stipple) finish use a mohair roller that you buy separately but will fit on the Whizz roller cage.

Why does White Dove start shedding after some time.
Is there some kind of chemical reaction with ProClassic ?
Very strange.
That, I cannot answer. I was never a fan of the White Dove rollers sleeves so I don't use them. I use a lot of Purdy Marathons or Purdy Golden Eagles. Could have been a defect as it's pretty unusual for roller sleeves to shed a lot after being immersed in paint. Was it ProClassic Alkyd?

I use the same setup as Gymshu. You can paint a six panel door side in a few minutes with good results. I don't use SW pro classic anymore. I started using Behr's ultra white acrylic enamel. It goes on easier than the PC, and when brushing, you can really feel the difference. Spreads like butter and dries without brush marks.
