Easiest way, is to put your meter across each switch while the inducer is running, and see which one isn't closing.
Do I unplug the wires to each and check them both within that one minute before it shuts down? or do I leave the wires connected?

I have had the unit (2 pressure switches) removed and connected meter to each while gently sucking on the hose off of the "t"to both. The low pressure (.20) gave me a reading other than OL and the high side (.30) remained constant at OL. Was this a valid test?

Thanks, If we are confident its a pressure switch, I dont have a problem replacing them as a pair.

when ckecking pressure switch...connect leads to terminals while switch is in furnace connected to draft inducer....star inducer..check reading... if you get a low reading ok.. if you get infinity reading check .. for cracked hoses, plugged ports, clogged exhaust.. 1st..before replacing switches. when performing this test remove the 24 volt wires..

You don't have to unplug anything. Set meter to voltage and check across the switches.
Thanks, I have seen different test on the Internet. Some say to pull the power wires from each P S, attach meter and start furnace. Others have said leave power wires connected.

I will have to make some extensions since these 2 older PS's have the connector blade deeply recessed.

2 Green lights on panel, top green led one is blinking 2 times bottom is solid green

Am I reading that this is a pressure switch issue? correctly? How do I tell witch one?
Is the unit installed horizontal?

Normally on a upflow you read them left to right and the error codes are on a sticker on the back of one of the doors or in fine print along the edge of the wiring diagram on the lower door backside.

USING OHMS ON METER:

The one on the left -.20 no wires connected starts at OL with furnace off and when it starts goes to 1.56-1.87 +/_

The one on the right -.30 no wires connected starts at OL with furnace off and maintains OL with furnace on.

Inducer starts on high, runs for 1 minute and shuts down does not go to low speed or fire igniter or anything. No gas is smelled either, FYI.

Return air is to the left, and the light sequence has the yellow on top, green status next and then power on bottom. After it kicks off, middle green status light blinks 2 times.

ok did you check the small port where orange tube from pressure switches attaches to inducer...remove hose use wire or small drill bit by hand and gently push it into the port to clean it out.....another thing to try remove split hose and do the .30 by itself see if it closes then..

thats an 80% furance..those ports clog alot....and restrict the vaccum...

Same results! Yes all of the orifices were gently probed! :biggrin2:

No problem, I am going to replace both. There is one on ebay that is identical, but I may try a local place Century, tomorrow and see if they will sell to me.

I need 42-24166-06 for the complete assembly!

Thanks, yes I believe we do. I will check them also. The guy on ebay is North American HVAC, has 72K sales on ebay and a 99.2 pos feedback.

So hopefully even with a markup, because I am not an official trade, I can get this going tomorrow. Maybe they will accept my HVAC maintenance and Prev ert or my 608 or 609.

Thanks everyone for your help, I will advise the results!
