OK, so this isn't in my house, it's at my work!
We have a couple of large battery backup/surge protectors and the stupid things are always dying, always needing new batteries (at $800 a pop, every few months), etc. I want to get rid of them and replace them with a more simplified battery backup unit.
The problem is that the cable that comes into these is of the type NEMA L6-30P, a twist on connector, just like my cable for the generator at my house.

I want to get an electrician in to rewire these L6-30s into standard 115 V receptacles. It seems like this would be do-able, as the L6-30 is just carrying two 15A circuits, but I am no expert with this stuff.
Anyone can weigh in on this?

the 6-30 is a 250v connector rated at 30 amps. if in fact the load is what you say it is, two independent circuits of 120 vac @15 amps, then an electrician should have no problem rewiring the power connections.

of course all manufacturer wiring requirements must be followed, of the devices you working with.
