I took over this bastard project! I am now going to do he HVAC . I am doing a 95% forced air ntrl gas.. It has a basement where the furnace will be, and still exposed joists to run all my ductwork in.. BUT.. returns? Upstairs it is all finished already. I know it may not be the best way to do it, but can't the return registers be cut in the floor like the supplies? this would save me drywall work etc...what are your thoughts. At first I was thinking a return in all the rooms, compared to the cheaper way of a central one but now that I see the problems with the walls, I am leaning on maybe a "few" floor returns? what do ya think?
